This is the most charming library I have ever visited. They have a great circulation, friendly staff, and amazing programs available for community members.

Beautiful library. They expanded the original back in the late 90's but kept the original design so perfectly that you can hard tell where the addition starts. It has a good selection of fiction and nonfiction in the upstairs adult section, as well as a good teen section, and wonderful children's department in the downstairs, with lots of toys, play areas, computers (that are heavily staff monitored), and games available to check out. Not to mention their great selection of books. They have a somewhat small but expanding section of Spanish books as well. Both the adult and children's departments also have many programs to enjoy, especially through the summer. There are several historical artifacts on exhibit as well as a small doll museum. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The adult area is quiet and comfortable. With several study areas available with windowed rooms that can be closed off. The bathrooms are always very well maintained and accessible. They also have an elevator, so all levels are wheelchair accessible.

I love taking my kids to the library. There's always some kind of activity going on for young kids and even families. They have a great selection of dvds and the staff is really helpful. They even offer DIY projects and coloring for adults.

Dear friends of the library, I am so happy that the website features a history section. Kendall Young remains dear to my heart, though I moved away from Webster City at the age of six.I wish the website had a link to photos of the library from its oldest days up to the present. I grew up in Iowa, but moved to Tucson to teach fiction-writing at the University of Arizona, so I don't get to Iowa very often. When I do, however, I always make an effort to visit Webster City and Kendall Young. In fact, the main character of a novel of mine--AS GOOD AS DEAD; to be published in March '15--comes from WC, and Kendall Young gets spotlighted as one of her favorite places in her hometown! Best wishes to all--hope to see some of you one day at Kendall Young! Elizabeth Evans
